I am a B2B business developer, market researcher and sourcing consultant - worked in the corporate environment in Milan for 25 years, then became an independent professional at the beginning of the pandemic and joined Upwork in 2020, which was lucky in a way, as that helped me landing my initial remote projects. Freelancing allowed me to turn my passion for history and art into paid projects as history researcher, which I added to my service portfolio. As an historian and research coordinator, I helped an Australian family locating original documentation of a trial at a martial court from WW2, which the Italian National Archive initially said it did not exist. :D Another project lead me to locate the tomb of some Albanian nobility from the Renaissance in Southern Italy, with the help of a smart local guy who visited a number of churches and crypts on my behalf, as we were in lockdown. I also did an engaging research for a US screenplay writer for a movie project. Unfortunately, decently paid history research projects in Upwork are a rare find! I am always on the lookout for them :) As a free hobby, I am the host and contributor to crime & mistery broadcasts in Italian Youtube channels, and collaborate with some Italian crime writers. Have you ever heard of the Monster of Florence? I do research in this space as well, including crime cases in France and UK for comparisons. 😉
