Upwork Alternative for Writers - nDash

Hi all! There's always a lot of discussion about Upwork alternatives and I learned of one the other day from a LinkedIn post. It's called nDash and it seems to have a more rigorous vetting process for freelancers. I believe it can take up to 90 days to be accepted.

Is anyone on this platform? If so, what do you think of it? What has your experience been?

I have everything completed to submit for vetting, but I've left the references section blank. It doesn't require references for submittal and I don't want to go through the trouble of contacting three people if there's not going to be a return anyway.

Don't know it, but has anybody heard of Skyword? I must have signed up a long time ago and forgot about it because I just received this:

All these writing platforms are suffering because the cheap content can just be done with AI. I'm on Constant Content and used to sell something every month. I haven't sold a thing in 2 years. I would suggest finding other ways but it doesn't hurt to sign up to whatever seems legit. Just don't get your hopes up.

Good old Constant Content -- I remember signing up for it when I joined Demand Media, but never submitted anything.

The last time I wrote blogs/articles were those stupid eHow pieces for Demand. I think there are still a few floating around online under my Demand fake name. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Lisa B. omg I worked Demand Media and made decent money. I miss that place so much. You could make some nice side cash there, but oooh the editors were such dorks. Remember the guy who took it really seriously and would lecture writers in the forum? I forget his name but they called him commaguy or something like that on demandmediasucks.com (now dead and that's sad!)

Remember we chatted about it on the main Upwork forum and I told you how the Sucks forum kept me sane and literally changed my life?? Somebody recommended a book that was the catalyst for copywriting. You and the others in the Sucks forum were so brilliant and hysterically funny -- and then the Karens in the main Demand forum who tried to get the Sucks forum shut down!!! So much fun to watch them irrationally try to stop any criticism of DM.

I don't recall comma guy, but the editors were awful, except for Kathryn Esplin or whatever her name was -- the only normal one who was also a writer there -- and she always took the time to write lengthy, complimentary notes for us. I read that she also died, though, and that's sad because she was one of the good ones!

Lisa B. oh yes I wasn't sure if it was you I spoke with on the Upwork sub. I kinda snipe on that sub now when I'm bored. lol

Demand Media Sucks was brilliant. I kept in touch with one of the guys but last time we spoke was maybe 2013 or something. Remember Jana? She was the woman with a Harlequin deal. She left DMS and made it pretty big. Her hubby recently passed away :(

Those forums were so much fun. It was the only fun thing about that god awful site. lol I remember all the editors hated Eve but loved the other head editor (forget his name). The whole place was so much hilarious drama.

I kind of remember Jana. I mainly just lurked in the Sucks forum and then would laugh at the arrogance of the Karens in the Demand forum who were so outraged at the Sucks posters, they tried to get them censored—so ridiculous because it was a separate website that Demand didn't own! 🙄
