Right now?
I'd probably do it. I'm spending SO much time looking for clients, and SO little time working for clients, that a good offer would probably tempt me beyond my ability to resist.
But.
I've got a risk-taking, jump-on-a-challenge, entrepreneur's heart. I have worked for myself, whether we call it self-employed or freelancing or whatever, for most of my adult life. Sometimes supplementing with a part-time job during slow times, but pretty much aiming always to get better and better at only working for me. (And clients, lol.)
If the employer insisted that I sit down from 9–5... I couldn't do it.
One, I work around my dad's doctors' visits these days, and believe me, 82-y-o dads have lots of doctors. I occasionally work around things of my own.
And two, I work best really early in the morning. I wake up before dawn usually. Love getting things done early so I can get feedback early and then set up my next work... early. :-) Sometimes if a problem is really awesome I'll go back and work from 9 to midnight... but you wouldn't get anything out of me from 3–5 pm anyway.
And I would not, under any circumstances, being willing to have my keystrokes monitored or whatever other awful tech there is, to make sure I'm chained to the computer, to pretend that makes for a good remote worker. I walk the dog, sit and sketch concepts with a real, untrackable pencil, research in real, untrackable books... etc. If an employer wanted to micromanage what I do for them, I'd lose my mind and no doubt, my creativity.
I would much, MUCH rather turn the corner on a couple of terrible years in freelancing and finally sail more smoothly than I have since 2022/2023, guiding a variety of clients to their best outcomes, and calling the shots on my schedule and my work style.
Being as how I haven't (yet!) been able to turn that corner despite best efforts... if a really good f-t job offer came, with the understanding that the time will be in segments that work for me to produce their results...
... reluctantly, yeah probably.
