Have you recently checked your competitors? The reason I’m asking is that last November when I performed a similar search using the "Talent" tab option (filtering by continent, skills, and minimum rate), I ended up with around 130 pages of results. I never went through them all, but the number was still overwhelming. However, yesterday, I decided to repeat the search in my free time, and this time I got just ONE page of results. I’m wondering - what’s going on?

Natasha I just checked mine. 8 pages but maybe 1/5 of the profiles had nothing to do with being a paralegal or providing legal assistant services. I did decide, however, to raise my hourly rate!

They definitely need better tools, I'm top rated and I don't get single view in months not even when boosted or smth. As if I'm dead to search results.

        5 days later

MsWiggy I think this was about the time - the rate increase! I did as well and received at least four invitations lately this week.

Wondering if there's a profile tips thread on the forum?

I this week removed myself from all but two Categories and have seen almost daily profile viewing activity since.

Today removed a specialized profile to focus on one main skill area… like my Upwork usage used to be, when I used to receive more enquiries than I could shake a stick at.

Upwork seems to be about niching down. I never felt specialized profiles were implemented well. They didn't seem to integrate with talent search particularly well. It has felt like an act of self-harm having them. This week I realised you could unpublish, rather than straight-out delete, a specialized profile, so will be interested to see if this has an effect on my search position and profile views within my main skill area.

Anyway… I've also struggled with this, so am not an expert profile optimisation etc., but hope any of that helps.

Btw it's nice to have this forum independent of Upwork.
