Most of the proposals are garbage or scams, often coming from third-world countries. I work on both Upwork and Fiverr. Initially, I didn’t have much faith in Fiverr, as it seemed designed for cheap projects and amateur freelancers. However, after a few months, I started receiving my first inquiries, and for a year, I had plenty of requests, typically selling projects in the $6k-$9k range. Then, without any apparent reason (despite having all positive reviews and meeting all the required metrics), I barely received any proposals for a year and half. Since the beginning of this year, though, it seems like legit orders and inquiries have started picking up again. I do have a Fiverr Pro status and many years of experience, which might help... even though I work in graphic design, which I believe is one of the most oversaturated fields.
