So I guess getting a nice payment from a sex coach for an article is out because of Upwork's listing of what's forbidden on their Trust and Safety page:

"Adult content. Creating or supporting sexually explicit/pornographic or sexually mature imagery"

It's irrational in this case. But it still seems risky and could lead to my account getting banned.

Violent content and plagiarism are also off limits, so I guess some graphic novel artists and users of AI-generated content will also have to watch out.

I would do it if it's forbidden by upwork (like the erotic stuff you mention) but not if it's illegal or could get me into legal trouble somehow (money laundering).

I didn't want to risk it because I've seen how their reasons for banning freelancers can be so irrational. It would just take one support dude having a bad day or moralistic moment to get rid of me.

Plus, the explicit content they wanted was super cringey, anyway. So no loss.

Just saw a client with past projects referred to as 'adult content ' happily requesting quotes from 'expert-vetted German language professionals' (LOL!), so I don't think you need to worry about it.
