Hi everyone,
This post is just for venting in a space filled with people who understand UW and freelancing!
So my niche is a very common and flooded one"CS", and since January, I haven't recieved any invites which is OK as most of the invites I get were not suitable anyway, however, for two months now, all of the job posts in that niche are noticeably written by AI, to make things worse, none of the proposals I send are viewed, and none of the jobs have any hires.
Now my take is, AI has taken over this niche, clients use AI to write the job posts, and freelancers use AI to write proposals, Clients have already lowered the prices drastically, and I don't blame Upwork for doing nothing, they are getting paid more for fake or failed job posts, however, in the past week, upwork itself posted 3 job posts for CS agents, each getting 50+ proposals, and interviewed no one on the three of them, that is just frustrating.
If the proposal gets viewed every now and then, I would say OK, clients are picky, maybe next time, but nothing at all in two months, that is just dead cold.
I just wish there were a freelancing platform that actually cares about freelancers getting hired, and job posts getting filled, so that it would take its profit percentage out of them and not just make them pay for subscriptions and contacts to apply for job posts that are viewed by no one.
